Future Stories
Several collaborative research projects are in progress with colleagues Dr Simon Wilde, Dr Vinh Bui and other academics. The research focus is on AI, trust and technology adoption. Currently, Dr Bui is leading the Southern Cross University collaboration with the international E-Dengue project research. It involves developing a tool for early detection of Dengue fever in Vietnam. Following Phase 1, aimed at predictive modelling and software testing, Dr Bui has invited Dr Wilde and Michael to design a follow up survey based on their theoretical framework, the Trust and Technology Acceptance Model for Mobile Services (TTAMM) targeted at mobile users of the Dengue app.
On a creative note, songwriting projects with life long '60s friend Nick Radovic will just keep on going. Between the two of them they'll continue to write, already having a sizeable collection of unpublished lyrics and musical arrangements, as potential song projects. Nick lives and records in Sydney. Michael lives up on the NSW north coast, and records in his "Four Winds" home studio, the former home to Yvonne O'Donnell, sister of the late and great surfer Phyllis O'Donnell. She became the first Women's World Surfing Champion, winning at Manly Beach, NSW in 1964. All things being equal, "Four Winds" studio just might be moving down the road to Yamba in the not so distant future.
